On Sunday 7th May, all the elected leaders at Sts. John and Sylvia Parish participated in an induction training to sensitise the elected leaders on their roles and responsibilities. The purpose of having the training was to have strong and able leaders in order to effectively carry out the Mission of our Lord Jesus.
All elected leaders (groups and small Christian communities) will be commissioned on the 28th May during the first and second Mass. Leaders are requested to carry their Bibles, a new rosary and crucifix.
This was an act of charity by St. Agnes small christian community. They visited Brydges Centre a school of orphans in Kisaju on 22/4/23 and donated foodstuffs, cash and clothes amongst others to the pupils.
Laudato Si’ Week 2023 will be celebrated May 21-28 with the film “The Letter” to mark the eighth anniversary of Pope Francis’ landmark encyclical on care for creation.
This global celebration will unite Catholics to rejoice in the progress we have made in bringing Laudato Si’ to life, and show how the protagonists of “The Letter” are already doing so.
This May we celebrate the diversity of the people and talents within our movement. We invite you to join in prayer with your community in this month’s Laudato Si’ Encounter. In it, you’ll find:
a prayer to the Holy Spirit;
a reflection to promote the power of love by Friar Jacek Orzechowski F.M. of the Franciscan Action Network in Poland
the eco-conversion story of Aleksandra Ćwik-Mohanty, Laudato Si’ Animator from Warsaw, Poland, along with two images that for her represent the cry of creation and the song of creation;
an invitation to participate in Laudato Si’ Week;
and the Laudato Si’ Movement value of the month: Caring for one another.
